My own Power Platform project

Purchase requests and approvals

An employee submits a request in the app. The approver accepts or rejects it, and the decision and comment stay with the same case.

Starting point

From a request to a decision, with a number and status.

Email requests can become separated from their comments and decisions. It is difficult to identify the current version or what the employee is waiting for.

The workflow

How it works

One problem, clear steps and a visible result.

01

Request

The employee completes a form with validation of required fields.

02

Number and status

The system assigns a number and records the request in SharePoint.

03

Decision

The approver receives an approval request in Outlook.

04

Next step

Approval, rejection, comments and resubmission remain linked to the request.

What the working solution shows

The app displays the request list, creates new requests, shows decisions and supports resubmitting a rejected request. The screens below show my own working project.

What connects this project

Tools and their roles

Power Apps
Request list, form and detail screens, with resubmission after rejection.
Power Automate
Request numbering and routing through the decision and status update.
SharePoint
Two lists storing requests and numbering data.
Approvals
Requesting approval and receiving the decision and comment.
Outlook
The actionable approval message delivered by email.

Fit

When a similar process may help

  • Purchase requests circulate through email.
  • Employees cannot see the current decision status.
  • You need a structured form and recorded comments.

Scope and requirements

What we agree before deployment

This is my own portfolio project, not a universal one-click installation. Deployment requires configured data, connections, roles and approval routing. We also review list scale, exceptions and licensing.
